Present Moment Mindfulness: Guided Meditation
A simple + impactful antidote for life's chaos
We’ve all been there.
Racing through an overly busy day snowballing us from one thing to another until we exclaim an exhausted “How is it already 5 pm?!”
For some of us, this is just the occasional hectic day that gets away with us.
However, for most of us, this is our daily “du jour”, week after week.
So what’s the modern antidote to the productivity race we find ourselves caught in? Aside from changing our entire cultural way of life (which can be done but is obviously a bit more…ahem, complex), mindfulness is one of the most practical means I’ve found.
You might already be familiar with the idea of mindfulness. Perhaps you’ve heard it mentioned before or maybe you already have a good deal of experience exploring some of the practices.
For those who are new to mindfulness, in essence, this is our inherent ability to notice what is. Moment-to-moment awareness, without judgment. Our ability to become a sacred observer of our own present experience.
Mindfulness can be practiced at any moment. Whether you’re deep in the chaos of your day or peacefully winding down for the evening at home. However, in order to actively practice mindfulness, we are required to pause in some capacity. To step out of ourselves in order to observe ourselves. And, equally, to step into ourselves to become more fully embodied and present humans.
While there are tons of books, studies, articles, podcasts, speakers, gurus…all diving into the layers and philosophy of mindfulness, beginning a mindfulness practice is actually incredibly simple. And in fact, you can start today, at this very moment, without leaving your armchair.
This short, guided mindfulness meditation can be practiced anywhere, anytime, and as many times daily as you feel inclined. It’s designed to help easily guide you into a place of deeper awareness and peace with your present circumstance, wherever you find yourself in that moment.
