An adaptogenic herb that has long been a staple and “muse” in my herb cabinet, Schisandra is believed to help harmonize every system in the body. It’s properties and uses simply cannot be put into a box, and neither can its complex flavor.
This unique mocktail highlights the 5 signature flavors of Schisandra berry (sweet, salty, bitter, sour, and umami) with the delicate floral aromatic of Rose. The muddled fresh Raspberries and Beetroot powder enrich the color while the Agave syrup harmonizes all the flavors.
Schisandra Rose Tonic
1 serving of Herb Pharm Schisandra extract
¼ tsp. of Beetroot powder
3-4 fresh Raspberries
3 oz. sparkling water
½ tsp. Agave syrup
Ice
Dried Rose Petals, to garnish
Add Schisandra extract, Beet root powder, Raspberries, sparkling water, and Agave syrup to a glass. Stir with a spoon to combine and use the back of the spoon to lightly crush the Raspberries.
Add ice (one round ice ball works great here, but any shape of ice will do!)
Sprinkle dried rose petals on top to garnish (don’t skip this step as it adds a lovely aromatic of rose with every sip that you take).
